Controller Harten & Capt. Sullenberger Speak to Congress (19.73MB; download) -- On February 24, 2009, just over a month after the January 15, 2009 ditching of US Airways Flight 1549, the House Aviation Subcommittee heard from air traffic controller Patrick Harten about his experience on the day Flight 1549 ditched in the Hudson River. The panel also heard from Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, who warned the panel that the airline industry is in trouble and reminded them that the best safety gear for an airplane is an experienced crew.
