Add this to another station Five For The Drive - January 25, 2005 (63.50MB; download) -- Yesterday was labeled the most depressing day of the year by some guy somewhere and the media jumped all over it. Dr. Cliff Arnall's, a U.K. psychologist, calculations show that misery peaked Monday. Arnall, who specializes in seasonal disorders at the University of Cardiff, Wales, created a formula that takes into account numerous feelings to devise peoples' lowest point. The equation is broken down into seven variables: (W) weather, (D) debt, (d) monthly salary, (T) time since Christmas, (Q) time since failed quit attempt, (M) low motivational levels and (NA) the need to take action. But... it's now Tuesday. And it can obviously only get better. Just like today's music. No, seriously. I put in five of my favorites from the upper shelves. These are five more artists that you've never heard but should. And in between, to celebrate Dr. Arnall's theory, is the infamous chick from www.psychoexgirlfriend.com. You won't find her psycho calls anywhere but here now. In the mix: 1. The Clarkes - Another Day 2. Alex Bach - My Crucifixion 3. Fire Dean - Custom Deluxe 4. The Beeps - Tell Me 5. Salme Dahlstrom - God Likes Sex Be good or be good at it. Download MP3 here. Email me here.

Add this to another station Future Tense Podcast for January 25, 2005 (1.41MB; download) -- A report from media research firm Kagan predicts nearly 100 million Americans will subscribe to high-definition television programming by 2015. Currently, the number of people buying HDTV sets is far outpacing the number subcribing to HDTV programming packages. Kagan says the increasingly brisk sales of TVs will set the stage for a huge increase in HDTV subscribers. Kagan research associate Patrick Johnson says Americans own about 12 million HDTV sets, but far fewer are watching HDTV shows.
