Colette Vogele - The Podcasting Legal Guide (23.98MB; download) -- Podcasters may unexpectedly find themselves on the wrong side of the law. Copyrights, attribution, fair use, inducement, defamation and privacy are just a few of the issues which must be finessed to avoid ending up in hot water. Luckily, Colette Vogele and her colleagues have published an excellent, free guide for podcasters on their legal rights and responsibilities. Denise Howell sits down with Vogele to discuss this 'participatory law' project which helps demystify the legal dangers raised by the blossoming of audio and video podcasting.

A Camp Named Foo (9.28MB; download) -- I spent last weekend at Foo Camp, a gathering of about 200 technologists about 60 miles north of San Francisco on the grounds of O'Reilly Media. Om attended on Saturday afternoon and both of us came away with various impressions of people and ideas shaping our current technology world as well as a few trends just around the corner.
I was surrounded by so many interesting people and ideas my head is still spinning. Om enjoyed the frankness of discussions and the ability for people to take big bets with their ideas and plan out a better world.
This week's PodSession, A Camp Named Foo, is 20 minutes in length, a 9 MB download. Selected by: Harold Gilchrist [ stations ], Fri, 01 Sep 2006 09:45:46 UTC
