Add this to another station CalacanisCast7: Planecasting John Battelle's new Advertising Network (5.49MB; download) -- Got a chance to catch up with my pal John Battelle who gave a kickass keynote at OMMA West yesterday. I nodded my head through the entire thing it was like listening to a tape of myself talking about Weblogs, Inc! Now, its not exactly Weblogs, Inc. or Gawker. Its more like a content-driven version of BlogAds, but knowing Battelle where he starts will not be where he finishes. The company basically represents blogs on a non-exclusive basis which is boldvery blog. Johns confident he can make it work and I have to agree with him. Selling bundles of medium size sites is a great idea, heck maybe well let him sell in to our sites (provided he would have us!). Anyway, I get into what hes doing, what were doing, and what Nick Denton is doing all from 30,000 feet. Sorry about the jet engine noise. http://media.weblogsinc.com/common/videos/podcasts/calacanis What is Podcasting?/How does it work? If youre new to podcasting the concept is simple: you subscribe to my RSS feed and my show (in mp3 format) is automatically added to your iTunes/WindowsMediaPlayer and/or your ipod/other Mp3 player. You can set this up by first downloading a really cool piece of OpenSource/free software called iPodder here: http://ipodder.sourceforge.net. Then you add my Feed (aka RSS) to iPodder (you can cut and paste that link into ipodder by right mouse clicking on it): http://calacanis.weblogsinc.com/rss.xml. Once youve added my feed to ipodder the software will check my RSS feed for changes every now and then. When it does find a blog post with an Mp3 file attached (called an enclosure) it will add that file to your iTunes and iPod (or other software/players). You dont need to have a player of course, you can just have iPodder drop the mp3 file to your hard drive. Ads by Google
